Bartosz Piasecki - CG Portfolio

Professional Overview

My CG education seems to be a never-ending process for me. I am self-taught when it comes to 3d CG, but I have strong foundation gained from National Comprehensive School Of Art where beside of traditional art I was introduced into CG design. Today, I focus my attention to modeling, animation and rendering which are my specialization targets. I’ve been working in the CG industry from 2003.

For the first 6 years immediately after graduating School of Art with specialization in Art of exhibiting I was working on complex booth projects starting from idea, through design and visualization to implementation. Besides leading own projects I was supporting and developing small designers groups. All together I was involved in over 350 projects for various companies as a worker and self employed from 2008 - 2011. I've learned to pay attention to details and dimensions, because most often my visualizations where foundation for technical drawings also prepared by me. As a rule of thumb, visualization is prepared at the end of the project to present to the client complete booth and it's overall look. Nevertheless, in the art of exhibiting most of the time clients want to see result at the beginning, as it is hard for the clients to imagine entire design only from concept drawings ) so I've got used to making precised models and accurate visualizations ( not photorealistic but possible reflecting the overall look of the built stand ) at the initial phase of the project in a short time, sometimes even with the client sitting next to me giving feedback and actively supporting creation process.

The speed and technic I mastered in exhibition stand business enabled me to make a step change and move to more advanced and complex architectural visualizations and animations which I was doing for last 3 years. I have started with simple still visualizations of stand alone buildings and had some challenges with large complexes of buildings. Thanks to that, I managed to get in-depth knowledge of Mental Ray and it's advanced features allowing me to successfully handle large scenes like virtual walkthroughs estates consisting of many buildings in complex environment, including interior visualizations. I was also working on street and bridge visualizations, being base for animations used for urban planing. These tasks required, that the animation shows street with all it's key elements like bridges, crossroads, signs and surroundings from driver's perspective.

It's worth to mention that my interest in 3d CG is not only focused on visualizations. In my spare time often I worked on computer games modifications for many titles like: Medal of Honor:AA, Armed Assault, Unreal Tournamet games based, and Half-Life. For those games I often modify low poly characters, weapons, sounds, game levels, locations, and sometimes game logic, sfx...

I am also familiar with computer languages. In time of C64 I have made few simple games in BASIC, few years ago I have short adventure with C++ but PHP became more important to me. PHP as Object Based Language became for me good starting point to learn Phyton and MEL.

Although I’m very comfortable leading teams, I enjoy producing images on my own as well.
